Yorkstone is a very hard durable material which has been used for flooring for over 1000 years. A fine example of Yorkstone floors can be found in Lincoln Cathedral, England. Yorkstone paving slab really came to the fore during the Industrial Revolution when it was used extensively for the floors of the vast Cotton and Linen Mills and associated workers cottages.
